Cosmic Education
Cosmic Education is a family child care Montessori preschool in Irvine. We follow the Montessori method: a child-centered educational approach focusing on self-directed activity, hands-on learning, collaborative play, mixed-age classrooms, uninterrupted work periods, and treating children with deep respect to foster natural growth and independence.
We offer science experiments on a regular basis in small group settings, such as Volcano, Walking Rainbow, Lava Lamp, Magic Milk, Bubbles and much more. Hands-on science class help children develop critical thinking skills, encourages curiosity, promotes school readiness, and fosters a love of learning.
The gardening course we offer provides hands-on sensory learning where children explore plant life cycles, develop fine motor skills, build responsibility, and deepen understanding of the interconnected web of life and ecological stewardship.
Optional Korean and Mandarin (Chinese) classes available.
Dr. Maria Montessori described Cosmic Education as an integrated philosophy and elementary curriculum that teaches children the interconnectedness of all things in the universe. She believed education should start with the "big picture" of the universe and work downward, allowing children to see how science, history, and geography are intertwined.
Rather than teaching isolated subjects, Cosmic Education presents an integrated curriculum where history, science, geography, language, and math are interwoven into a grand narrative. This holistic approach helps children see themselves as part of both a larger human story and the natural world.
Our Educators
Ms. Cherie
Ms. Cherie is a certified Montessori teacher and a mother of two boys.
She holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Oriental Medicine. She worked as an acupucturist before becoming a Montessori teacher.
As a Montessori and science teacher at a Montessori school, she brought a gentle, holistic approach to the classroom and is deeply passionate about teaching. She loves nurturing children’s growth with warmth, care, and curiosity.
All of our teachers have cleared background checks and are certified in CPR and First Aid.
